The Basics
In yellow house the nursery and reception children work
together, in our early years unit.
We have three rooms and and outdoor play area.
In the creative room, we can
paint, draw, make models, use musical instruments, and explore sand and water.
We also have a quite area where we can go and have our milk whenever we want
to, and also read a story.
In theliteracyroom, we have
a puppet theatre, a book corner, a big role play area, a home corner, and some
computers.
We learn how to read and write, and we also do lots of circle work. There is
a writing area where we can write and read books, and we can also choose from
lots of games and jigsaws.
In the mathsroom, we learn about
shapes and numbers. We do lots of counting games and learn number rhymes. We
also have a construction area with lots of sets, like lego, brio, and stickle
bricks. There are train sets and garages in here too. In this room we do lots
of cooking, and have an investigation area with magnifiers where we can find
out about different objects.
Outside we have bikes, scooters and aeroplanes. We can make obstacle courses
using tyres, balancing beams and blocks. We also like to paint letters, patterns,
pictures and shapes using buckets of water paint and brushes. We can go outside
to work whenever we like. |
