AIMS Below are the agreed foci of the group. • Uses of ICT within the classroom focusing on software, hardware and specific projects that support learning of mathematics. The formation of an e-group in collaboration with the CLC situated at Southmoor. • Examples of leading edge materials that challenge our perceptions of what mathematics education is about. • National trends and press releases with schools discussing actions they did in responding to certain issues raised in mathematics education. • International perspective, reports on good practice found in other countries and how their practices could impact on ours. • Creating international and national links with leading edge providers eg OUNDLE SCHOOL. • Speakers/professional associations who are actively involved in developing and contributing to the regional/national agenda in mathematics education. • Developing assessment for learning strategies, activities that allow teachers to create space to assess. • Teaching and learning activities that motivate and inspire for all abilities. |
