Year 8 Kingswood Visit

20 year eight pupils visited the Kingswood Activity Centre on Friday September 30th for the weekend at the Lake District accompanied by Mr Lavery and Miss Bittlestone from ICT.

All 20 pupils had a good time and were commended for their behaviour, they were a credit to the school and themselves.

The pupils participated in a range of activities, which the teachers also took part. They all thoroughly enjoyed themselves working in a team environment.

Sample of Day time Activities

The pupils had a choice of activities to choose from, Fencing where the opportunity to learn the event develop the technique and have a basic understanding of the event. Indoor Initiatives where pupils are split into groups and analyse some complex problems whilst building self confidence and also being in a team environment.

Sample of Night time Activities

The pupils had a range of activities to choose from Campfire, Party Time, Circus Skills, Club Kingswood, Hollywood Nights, and Who Wants to be a Billionaire.

The pupils discovered how ICT works in different ways and how to develop controlled flashing lights using a set of programmed commands. The pupils developed there own animated movies using monkeys and also developed there own music to go with the show.

Another visit to Kingswood Activity Centre is organised for September 2006 for Year 8 pupils only.
