If you're a Primary French practitioner, you'll find just about all the QCA Scheme of Work covered. In addition, MFL Sunderland now podcasts. You can download and subscribe to them here. Many thanks to our FLAs - they've worked really hard. January 8th 2010 Happy New Year ! There are some new resources on the website for today for Spanish (primary and secondary), French and German. Click here to find out more information. December 14th 2009 Time for an update. I've been doing little uploads every couple of weeks, but not big enough to really warrant a paragraph here. There are lots more Primary Spanish resources as well as others for Key Stages 3 and 4. There are also some new Christmas resources for French and Spanish. Thanks again to all the people who have contributed resources. If you haven't already, click onto our international advent calendar for some intercultural understanding at the end of term. Enjoy your holiday ! October 5th 2009 Ruth and Carole at St Aidan's have now completed the Year 4 scheme of work for Primary French, and I have now uploaded all of it except for the Carnival of the Animals lessons. Ruth has asked if anyone who has used the primary resources could send some feedback via the MFL Sunderland Google group. I have also added some more Primary Spanish resources. Thanks for your continued support of the site - the hit counter for September shows an increase of 5000 on September 2008. September 14th 2009 Welcome back to the new school year! There have been a few changes to the languages world of late, and some of the changes that I have made to the site today reflect that. Firstly, you'll be aware that the Comenius Centre network no longer exists, and that their role has been taken over by Links into Languages. You'll notice a new button for Links NE on the navigation bar on the left of the screen. Secondly, two more Sunderland secondary schools have re-opened as Academies. I have updated the secondary schools list accordingly. Thank you to everyone who continues to use the website. The monthly hits are going up and up. Last month the site passed the 1 million hits mark. There are also plenty more resources for you. I have added the flashcards and the sound files to the Foundation and KS1 resources produced by the Sunderland consortium, and there are plnty of others too, including Revision Starters for GCSE German. Thanks very much to Sandie and Jamila for those. August 13th 2009 Hope everyone is having a relaxing and enjoyable holiday. I've been uploading more resources over the holiday, in particular for Italian (thanks Paola!) and for Primary Spanish. May 4th 2009 I've just uploaded the first Spanish audio files. I hope these will prove useful to the non-specialist and also to those of you who like to make your own listening resources. April 24th 2009 Happy 5th birthday MFL Sunderland ! February 25th 2009 Another 30 or so resources, bringing the total to over 2300. And if you haven't already, please have a read of our first Primary Newsletter. The website had another bumper month hits-wise in December - over 39000 in the 19 days before we all broke up for the holidays. French Key Stages 3-5, Spanish Key Stages 3 and 4, German Key Stages 3-5, some new French and Spanish Promethean flps and last but not least, the site's first Italian resources. Many thanks as ever to everyone who has sent me resources over the last month. The site received in excess of 43000 hits last month, and regularly receives more than 2000 each week day. November 10th 2008 There are over 50 new resources on the site today, mostly German, including the first German Thinking Skills. Many thanks again to everyone for their contributions. Thanks to our new Primary French Assistants, there is also a new set of French sound files to support the KS2 QCA Scheme of Work, but which I'm sure will be useful elsewhere as well. If you do the Edexcel GCSE, please feel free to have a look at the support materials which I have put together for my school here. The site now receives in excess of 1500 hits a day, and in September and October received in excess of 37000. September 14th 2008 You'll find 40 new resources on the site today. I have added 'Deux petits oiseaux - the movie' and also a sample Smartboard file for lesson 1 of the Sunderland Materials. On the subject of the Interactive Whiteboard, I have finally got round to zipping the Promethean files so that hopefully you will actually be able to download them. March 16th 2008 Lots of new sound files on the primary pages. They are intended to accompany the Sunderland primary materials. Some files are to help the non-specialist teacher to practise their own pronunciation and some of these also have listening exercises and PowerPoints attached. We've got up to Unit 18 so far. January 11th 2008 Happy New Year to all our users, and thanks for continuing to use the site. November and December saw record numbers of visitors to the site. It's a series of comic strips designed for KS3 and maybe KS2 to cover as many language areas as possible. If having seen the characters you have an idea for a story please email it ! Progress on these is likely to be slow as the artwork is quite labour intensive, but I hope you think it's worth it. If you are in a Sunderland school and will be hosting a Foreign Language Assistant next year, please send them the link to our pages to give them lots of info about the job that they will be doing. June 7th 2007 Over 60 new resources for KS3 Spanish, mostly grammar with some worksheets. Some German to follow soon, more always welcome ! May 24th 2007 Lots of changes and updates: Visitor record updated for February, March and April 2007. The average number of visitors to the site for the period January-April 2007 is 18248 per month. For the same period in 2006 it was 8795, and 468 in 2005. The survey told me that people aren't looking at the news, quotes, events and gallery pages as much as some of the others. I have removed the Events and Gallery buttons from the navigation panel on the left and put all of these sections under the button News & Information. You'll see another change to the buttons on the left as well - a much more prominent copyright statement, following advice from them that know about such things. I have also rearranged the primary French resources and links so that hopefully they are easier to navigate and things are easier to find. If there is any information that you think would help your FLA that could feature on this page, drop me a line. June 12th 2006 The site received over 11000 hits in May. That's about 360 people a day using it. Most people seem to use it for resources. If you're one of them, please have a look around at the other pages - there's lots more to see ! All donations of resources, links, pictures for the Gallery, accounts of events etc. will be very gratefully received. The site will only continue to thrive if there is give as well as take.
