Many many thanks to everyone who has completed the survey since it was first posted on May 2nd 2007. Responses are still arriving every day, and the following is based on the first 200. The figures from the first four questions provide useful information about the site's users, and in particular about the languages that people teach - there is clearly more Spanish being taught now than German, and nearly everyone teaches French at some level. |

Thankyou again to everyone who provided feedback and suggestions, and in particular for the overwhelmingly positive comments. Many suggestions were made, several of them by more than one person. A number of people suggested audio files for listening and speaking: Podcasts This is definitely a way forward for the site. I have looked into how to do this (thank you to all the experts on the TES forum!) and now have all the software and equipment for recording and making mp3 files for use in the classroom. You can see the first one, about animals, here. More will follow, probably from September when I will have more access to native speakers. At present audio files will be listed on the PowerPoint pages, which I have renamed "Audio Visual", since audio files will usually have worksheets etc to go with them. Ten people requested more German: More German (8 people) The majority of the resources on the website are mine, and I have never done any German ! I will therefore have to rely on you the users to send German resources to share. To make it easier to send resources to the site, I have set up an email address mflsunderland@gmail.com Others requested more Spanish: More Spanish (4 people) I put Spanish resources on the site as and when I have them. If you have some you would like to share, please email them to the address above. There have also been requests for certain KS4 materials: KS4 vocab lists The following requests have been made for A level resources: More KS5 (4 people) I do not teach A level and so again have to rely on users to share their resources. And the rest: More primary materials I will shortly rearrange the primary pages so that all the resources are in the same place, and more are being added all the time. Unfortunately you will still have to pay for the Sunderland primary materials if you want them ! More thinking skills (3 people) More starters and plenaries Reading passages for comprehension - there are already many texts for KS3 French and Spanish for which you could formulate questions. Blogs Ideas for encouraging written French Ideas for speaking activities in the classroom Activities related to KS3 Framework Songs Interactive games Vocational resources “How to” guides e.g. PP and IWB - there are already some "how to" guides for PowerPoint, worksheets and images with the Language Assistants' resources. Link and info about Asset Languages IWB resources (3 people) More PowerPoints - more PowerPoints are being added all the time. Questioning / AfL in MFL - more AfL materials will be added shortly. |
