The International School Award is administered by the British Council and sponsored by the DCSF, and consists of a three-tier system.

You can apply for the Foundation Tier, Intermediate Tier or the full Award, depending on how much international work you have done so far.

The Award structure provides schools with a framework within which to develop their international work.

On 20th October 2008 Sunderland LA and Atlas hosted an event called "Getting Started with the International School Award - The Foundation Tier". Our aim was to show schools how easy the application is for the Foundation Tier of the Award. Application for the Foundation Tier of the Award is retrospective, and celebrates and validates all the international work that you have already done in your school.
