Comenius assistants are teachers or trainee teachers who come from a European country to work in your school for between 3 months and one academic year. They are completely FREE OF CHARGE as their salary is paid by the EU. Competition to be a Comenius assistant is fierce, and so the people who are successful are always of the very highest quality. Deploy them across the school to enrich your existing curricula.

DfID Global School Partnerships are links between schools in the UK and schools in one of the countries in Asia, Africa, Latin America or the Caribbean. The initiative is funded by the Department for International Development and managed by the British Council. The Global Gateway has full information – click on “make a link” to find prospective partner schools. There is a grant of about £1000 available to enable one teacher to visit the partner in order to plan the curriculum project, and a further sum of £750 is available for planning, materials and supply costs for planning.
These links are co-ordinated locally by Pauline Zarraga. Phone or fax 264 1892 for more information.

Connect Youth International provides advice, information, training and grant aid to UK groups of young people taking part in international exchanges. Find out more>>
