Developing
21st century schools in the North East Radisson
Hotel, Durham City To support the ambitions of the Children’s Plan, the government’s International Strategy for all schools in England and the duty on schools to promote community cohesion, ATLAS – the North East regional network for international learning, brings practitioners together to showcase good practice and help schools plan to embed the international dimension at the heart of their school. This FREE one day course will take delegates through all aspects of school linking and offer advice for curriculum activities with partner schools. Delegates will be able to reflect on where in the world they would like to develop links and learn about available support; including partner finding and both national and European Commission funding streams. The conference will be led by presenters from across the North East region, the European Commission, by colleagues from the British Council and by pupils from our schools. The conference is well suited to schools at the early stages in international work. More experienced practitioners will also find the case studies to be inspirational and be able to examine pathways for future development. The event provides an excellent insight into international and global dimensions for school advisers, improvement partners and inspectors. The programme will draw together best practice examples of the European Union’s Lifelong Learning programme and showcase Comenius and etwinning projects. Please contact Brian Stobie to book your place.
