Oscars 2008
AN ALL STAR EVENT …
Farringdon’s Third Annual Oscar Ceremony took place on Saturday 1 st March 2008 at the Quayside Exchange. The event is now held annually to celebrate work done by students on their BTEC and GCSE Dual Media courses.
50 staff and students celebrated student achievements with a ceremony, buffet and disco, as with previous years the ceremony was presented by Mrs O’Brien and organised by Mrs Bird. As well as members of the English Department, Mr Thornton and Mrs McDonald were there to present awards.
Students from Year 9 and 11 attended the event which was a real evening of glitz and glamour. As you will see in the photos the students looked fabulous.
Categories awarded included:
- Best Animation
- Best Film Trailer
- Best Advert
- Hardest Working Group
- Best Advert made on a visit to Bradford Film Museum
- Best Team Work
- ‘Special’ Media Award
All students said they had an excellent time and really enjoyed either winning or watching their peers win. Here’s looking forward to next year’s event already!!
