- Excellence through Partnership

Farringdon has been celebrating its 50 th Anniversary. On 3 rd July 1958, the foundation stone was laid which went on to become the school you know and love today.
Tours were offered to ex-staff and students on Tuesday 1 st July, those who partook in this opportunity really enjoyed their trip down memory lane and the chance to see just how much the school has changed.
On Thursday 3 rd of July, students and staff were encouraged to dress 1950’s style and in many lessons they did 1950’s themed research or tasks. During the morning there was a balloon launch of 50 gold balloons, one to commemorate each year. Students from Year 9, the Student Council and Newspaper team released the balloons each containing a label detailing our anniversary. Those finding a balloon have been asked to return the label to the school for the chance of winning a prize – furthest balloon wins! We’ll keep you posted if any are returned.
Due to our fantastic school play ‘We Will Rock You’ already being on the 3 rd July - see photos also on the website – we had to postpone our reunion evening till the following week, this was held on Wednesday 9 th July. However it was well worth the wait. Many memories came flooding back and people who hadn’t seen each other, in some cases for over 30 years took a real trip back in time as they shared memories. The wine and the conversation flowed! See images from the evening, also look out for Septembers Newsletter which will contain a ‘4 page-special’ full of images and memories that guest from the night had to share.
