G.C.S.E Drama is offered as an option for pupils to study in Year’s 10 & 11, as part of the curriculum or as an extra curricular activity.
The course is comprised of 2 elements which are:

Practical Work: The pupils choose two styles of performance from a variety of options: improvisation, scripted work, Theatre in Education or devised theatre. Whichever option they choose, pupils keep a personal portfolio to accompany their practical coursework. They must declare the stimulus which inspired them in their practical performance and compare and contrast this stimulus with their final performance in terms of Historical Background, Class & Culture and Performance Techniques. |
| Written Paper: There are two sections in the written paper: section A deals with play texts studied and section B deals with questions on live theatrical performances. There are two questions on the paper and pupils can answer both questions from either section A or B.
