Italy Trip 2008

Italy 2008

Farringdon this year started off what is bound to be a yearly event after a very successful and enjoyable tour of Italy. Thirty boys from years 7,8 and 9 flew out to Italy on Monday 7th April for a weeks footballing trip near Verona. After a bit of a challenge, certainly an experience ( Robbie Jones's suitcase... !) and a bit of travelling we arrived at the hotel which was a 4* sports experience resort - Not to shabby for the Farra lads !

During the week the lads played in competitive friendly matches with the most notable result was the year 8s and 9s combined beating Verona's academy team 2-0 goals from Liam Agnew and Dan Galley. All though this was a football orientated trip their was plenty of other things to do. The Baccus night was enjoyed by all - here they got the chance to go go-carting play ten pin bowling and use a huge variety of arcade machines. We also had a day visit to Milan where everyone got the chance to wonder about the shops and take in the 'Milan Experience' before all moving onto the San Siro football stadium, Home ground to AC and Inter Milan. Everyone also enjoyed the disco....some very impressive keen dancers - names to been passed on to Mrs Williams !

The lads also took part in a moral boosting initiation test by jumping into the outside pool - Very cold so when it came to go for a swim everyone opted to go to the heated indoor/outdoor pool with a built in Jacuzzi and high pressure water massagers. All in all it was a fantastic trip which we hope continues on a larger scale for years to come here at Farringdon.
