- Excellence through Partnership

First of all a special thanks to Mrs J. Sanderson who is the co manager of the team. Mrs Sanderson is giving up her time in order to support the team and learn more about the game so that she can pass her knowledge onto others. This is very much appreciated by the players and Mr Robinson. Thank you Mrs Sanderson.

It was the first game of the season for the Year 8 team. The score was even at 8 all at half time. The boys were very determined and willing to learn. Unfortunately they lost the game to a very strong Seaham team but the Farringdon boys are not too far behind. A very encouraging first game with Jordan Southern and Scott Hutchison sharing Man of the Match.
Monday 13th Nov

Unfortunatley there was no score sheet. Although the boys lost the game their overall play has improved as they increase their knowledge of the game. Harry Coles deserving Man of the match.

With the score at 10-2 to Farringdon at half time, the boys then began to change the tempo of the game and played some excellent basketball. The team is very patient when in possession of the ball and wait for the right opportunity before they shoot. Again the boys are improving with every game. Man of the Match was shared between Adam McCann and James Pallas. The team’s next game is at home to Pennywell on the 13th of December. Supporters are welcome. Also a special thanks to Taylor Dawson for doing the scores and a well done to Mrs Sanderson who umpired her first game.

The half time score was 12 each and the game was very competitive. As the boys began to focus on their shooting they began to take the lead. The second half performance was by far the best the boys have played and it was the highest points total they have scored so far this season. Man of the Match was again shared between James Pallas and Harry Coles.
Overall the boys have had an excellent season, winning 3 games and losing 2 and there is a slight chance they might make the semi-finals. Mrs Sanderson and Mr Robinson have hopes for the team next season as they build on what they have done this season. Well done boys. Please have a look at the Sunderland Schools Basketball Website for results and highest scorers.
