- Excellence through Partnership

First of all a special thanks to Mr J. Ellison who is the co manager of the team. He is giving up his time in order to support the team and learn more about the game so that he can pass his knowledge onto others. This is very much appreciated by the players and Mr Robinson. Thank you Mr Ellison.

The score does not reflect how well the Farringdon boys performed in their first game of the season. Woodham won the North East area last year. There were many positives from the game and man of the match was Phillip Gooch.

An excellent performance, possibly the best performance by the team in 4 years. With Nicholas Smith running out Man of the Match. This now sets up the game against Hermitage, whoever wins will go into the semi-final of the North East Area.

Monkwearmouth 16 - Farringdon 24
Unfortunately there was no score sheet. It was a very disciplined performance and the boys are now improving with every game. Man of the Match was Jeffrey Westgarth.

The boys were trailing at half time by 9 points to 6. St Aidans were a well organised team and Farringdon had to be patient in order to break them down. A well deserved win with Matthew Blyth Man of the match.

Overall a disappointing result for the boys, the game was very close until the final quarter of the game, when a strong Thornhill team scored 5 quick baskets. Man of the Match was shared between Nicholas Smith and Liam Longstaff. Also a special thanks to Danielle Regan for doing the scores. The boys have only lost one game and should at least come runners up in their league which will mean the team facing the winners of the Washington area in the semi-final. Please have a look at the Sunderland Schools Basketball Website for results and highest scorers. Forthcoming matches for the Year 10 basketball team;
· Semi-finals have to be played before Friday March the 16th.
· Basketball Tournament on Wed 7th at Oxclose School.
