What is a BTEC First Diploma in Sport?

It is a practical, work related course. You learn by completing assignments that are based on realistic workplace situations, activities and demands.

What is it equivalent to ?

A BTEC First Diploma is equivalent to FOUR GCSE grades A-C. It introduces you to the employment area that you have chosen and provides a good basis to go onto a more advanced work-related qualification.

What is the course structure?

The course is made up of six units --- 3 core units that everyone takes and 3 specialist units.What are the units?

How are the units assessed?

All units are assessed as part of an ongoing assessment scheme. One unit is externally assessed. An overall grade for the qualification is then awarded.
