The aims of this course are to:-
To enable candidates to acquire knowledge and understanding which will help them in the world of work.
To equip and prepare candidates for BTEC National Diploma
To support the educational and wider personal development of the individual in preparation for lifelong learning.
What will I study on this course:-
You will study 6 units in total including Body in Sport, Practical Sport, Health, Safety and Injury and Preparation for Sport.
Who is this course for?
Those contemplating careers in the Leisure and Recreation sector and in particular the rapidly expanding health and fitness industry.
What do I need to get on the course?
A minimum of four GCSE's at grade G-D
How is the course assessed:-
You will be given a grade for each unit (Pass, Merit or Distinction) and your overall grade will be calculated from these.
During the course you will experience a combination of teaching and learning styles as follows:-
Classroom teaching supported by workshops and practical activity.
What qualification will I achieve?
A BTEC First Diploma in Sport and Exercise
What can I do after the course?
You can progress to level 3 courses including the BTEC National Diploma or start a careers in the Leisure and Recreation sector.
