Y10 Trip to France – 2005
(page 1)
As part of our GCSE French, we spent a week in France immersing ourselves into the culture – one of the best ways of learning a language and described by the French as a “bain linguistique” ( or “linguistic bath” )… you can just imagine yourself showered with words and phrases…
We also had fun incorporating a lot of healthy sporting activities offered by the chateau Beaumont where we stayed. There was something to accommodate all tastes: aeroball, archery, zipwire, fencing, swimming and quadbike rides amongst other things.
Evening entertainment was great as well and fun was had by all especially when our very own Cilla Black ( Asten Nicholson ) asked such pertinent questions during our French blind date.
The disco was just as successful and not a single person stayed in their seat!
And then there was the fashion parade where we explored French stereotypes amongst other things…
Before allowing us to go to sleep, Miss made us study the escape route just in case… but after a good night’s sleep in our comfortable dormitories and a refreshing shower, we were ready to embark on our luxury coach and visit the area.
