BTEC Media Studies

BTEC MEDIA

 There are 3 units to complete; they are:

U2 - Research for Media Production and U17 -Media Production

These two units are linked and whatever you research (U2) you create (U17) for example, if your class researches advertising you will film an advert. If your class researches teenage magazines you will design a magazine.

U10 -Animation Techniques (or other optional unit)

You will spend time working as part of a group to plan an animated sequence for a music video. You will visit the local CLC in order to create your film.

Other optional units which may be used as an alternative to animation include magazine production*, advertising*, script writing, film production*, photography or web design*.

* Not to be used again if used in U17

BTEC Media Certificate is worth 2 x GCSE’s:

There is no Exam but all parts of all coursework must be completed to receive award if full.
